Vice President, CMO Advisory Practice
Laurie Buczek is IDC’s Research Vice President for the CMO Advisory practice. Laurie’s research focuses on helping companies achieve their business goals through better connection with today’s empowered customer and the application of management science to the transforming marketing function.
Laurie has over two decades as an innovative leader experienced at building a CX (customer experience) practice, multi-channel marketing, social media, digital business transformation, sales enablement, technology strategy & sales approaches that personalize customer experiences. She is a change agent with experience in private, nonprofit and public sectors and uniquely experienced in customer experience, various marketing, sales and IT roles.
Prior to her role at IDC, Laurie founded Mindshift Strategy, a business consulting firm enabling clients to develop and implement a “customer first” strategy. Laurie has spent most of her career in high-tech, with 17 years at Intel Corporation where her last role was Global Director of Customer Experience. During her expansive career at Intel she also spearheaded defining strategy to enter new markets, crafted multi-channel marketing programs, led digital transformation for employee and customer engagement.
Prior to Intel, Laurie worked for Forrester Research consulting with large corporations across Canada and the eastern U.S. seaboard on how technology is changing and enabling their business strategy. She started her career at Gateway, Inc. where she was involved in establishing a corporate account and territory sales arm for the direct PC manufacturer.
Laurie holds a degree from The Ohio State University.
