If you sit down for dinner with a group of teenagers, you can expect an interesting conversation. This week, the Eco team served dinner to the teens at Homestretch, and the conversation spanned from snapchat filters to burger eating competitions.

Homestretch, an award-winning nonprofit in the Washington, DC metro area, offers a program called Teenstretch. The Eco team had a great time preparing pizza and fruit salad for dinner and getting to know the teens in the program.teenstretch1

After a fun meal, the teens headed off to the rest of their Teenstretch program. They spend time learning life skills including resume writing, mental health, nutrition, and discovering their passions for a future career.

Homestretch Partnership

Eco has partnered with Homestretch over the past several years to make the value of its programs clear to prospective donors in the greater Washington, DC area. The partnership officially began with the launch of the Value Study, released in 2015 at the annual Benefit Breakfast. We are proud to have contributed to a powerful outcome for Homestretch: they exceeded their fundraising goal at the event by 100%. Since then, we’ve been building additional ways to make the value of Homestretch clear to donors.

We had a wonderful time meeting the teens in Teenstretch, serving dinner, and eating together! We’re looking forward to next time. See more about our partnership with Homestretch here.
